afd7f955-1312-456b-b6ea-511e12416f13 Sister Dantzel Park Back to Missionary Letters Drunk On The Spirit Welcome back, I am so excited to inform you about my week!! As always, lots of contact with drunk people. Yes, there are a few interactions in the bullet points if you are interested in that kind of thing haha! This week FLEW BY. So many good spiritual things happened and I am so glad I was a part of it. I guess let's jump right in :) Bullet Points > EaRtHqUaKe!?! This was actually a bigger sized earthquake than the last one a 4.8. I was sleeping and it woke me up! I was trying to decide if I needed to get under something but was too lazy because as you all know I am on the top bunk with no ladder. I was not about to climb back up there in the middle of the night haha!! Everything is all good! :) > I bought a new dress :) For zone conference. > I randomly decided to cut my hair <3 > Zone conference!?! I learned so much about the Christlike attributes, Charity, faith, and hope. But the food was not that great. >Adrianos baptismo!!!! ¡Esto fue absolutamente maravilloso! He is a 14 year old who we found two weeks ago who asked us when he could be baptized in the first lesson. His dad was crying during the baptism and it was so good!! > Creepy taxi driver offering to drive us because the sun was out and it's bad for our health… Apparently walking in the sun is not healthy in case anyone was wondering. > We had a wonderful lesson with a recent convert and his younger brother with a baptism date. They have a cute cat and I walked out of the house with a banana?!? For those of you who don't know, this is the only thing I don't like enough to not eat. Don't worry, my comp took care of it for me :) > There was a turkey on the roof… We knocked on the door and I heard something so I assumed they were answering the window on the second floor. Nope, just the turkey on the roof… that's a new one :) > This is what one of our friends messaged us… try and decode it :) Hello, Goog afternum. Mi nave yeshus, tranki hermanita The truth is… I don't know either haha!! > I finished my stuffed animal!! My family helped me name it Oso... Basic and Spanish I think it's a perfect name :) > Two drunk guys this week tried to boost my confidence by saying “ God sent these two beautiful blond angels to help save us”... No we didn't talk to them but they like to give us shout outs :) > We had a lesson in the street with a guy and his little kids. During the lesson his 2 year old daughter told him she needed to use the bathroom. Well as you might imagine any parent would do he pantsed her right then and there and pointed at the corner and told her to use the bathroom… then she ran around with her pants down for a bit :) Classic haha. Weird foods *Alpaca! 11/10 Soooooooo good!!! Kind of like pork but the flavor of steak?? It was a little different but so good!! *Salad :) 10/10 This really just means tomamos and onions soaked in lime juice but I love it when we get this!! Spiritual thought Okay I am sorry I am not using an analogy that week. Come back next week for an analogy. This week I wanted to share something I learned. This was a personal revelation and something I will never forget. First I need to give a brief explanation. Our mission president told us to focus on a topic this transfer and I decided to focus on faith. We are always teaching our friends about faith. It is the first principle of the gospel. I have been working on acting in faith because as the scripture in James 2:17 says “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” We can't just say we believe in these things and not show it. So this week I have been working on having faith for my friends. I also have been trying to study a few scriptures about faith and how I can apply it. Then during a testimony meeting this week I had a revelation. I will try to explain to the best of my ability. I am sorry if it doesn't make sense. In the Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 says “And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.” The first part of this scripture literally tells us faith is NOT to have a perfect knowledge of things. As for missionary work this is very true. But, look at it from this perspective. We don't need to have a perfect knowledge of what friends are going through, because our loving Heavenly Father does. We just have to act in faith. Show our love for them enough to trust they will act, to access the atonement of Jesus Christ and be healed from their tribulations and whirlwinds of life. You might not know where your faith is right now. But I invite you to act! Our faith is delicate, don't let yours die. Take the next step!! I promise that as you do you will find more peace and things will work out. Maybe you feel like you don’t have time, but I can assure you that as you sacrifice this time for the Lord he WILL bless you. I love you and I know you can do it!! Thanks for reading another email! You guys are the best <3 Don't forget to shoot me an email :) <3 Hermana Park Previous Letter Next Letter

777cb4ae-7dc7-46fb-be52-acfad21fd887 Sister Jasmine Bundy Back to Missionary Letters Twisters 🌪💥 Hola amigós 👩🌾 Bien! 🖐🤌👌 There were some dumb tornadoes this week. Sister hergie and I went knocking while the sirens were going off. It was the most fun I had all week. I no see tornado, I keep working. 🤡 Other than that we had like 90 meetings. I've been thinking that instead of STL (Sister training leader) It should be STM (Sister training mom) I'm no one's leader, but I will happily be their mom. We had a lesson with our friend Larry at the church building. Larry has started his own latter day saint branch off so that's nice. I really can't win. I find one person who has his own testimony of the restoration through his own study, and then he starts his own church?! BROTHA PLEASE #The church of Larry of Latter Day Saints We had a member in the lesson and Larry kept asking questions that neither our member or Sister hergie knew how to answer. So I just made crap up. Hope it's aight. JUST JOKES 🥱 When in doubt, bear testimony of Jesus Christ. I also went on exchanges with a Spanish speaking companionship. It was great! I was the dumb blonde at the fiesta for 24 hours. When we would go finding, Hermana Brunner told me that I had to stop talking to white people and only talk to Latinos. It was cool to see the differences in how they work their area compared to mine. Anyways back to the tornadoes, I've never seen one before and so I prayed that I would and you know what? I still haven't. Coming soon in theaters maybe? BUT! We called up two Elders in our zone and hyped them up to go do missionary work in the rain. I told them, I said: we will pray that you will find someone to teach at 5:25pm. You have 30 minutes. We got off the call, Sister hergie and I immediately prayed that they would find someone at 5:25pm that was ready to hear the gospel. God literally loves us and thinks we are silly because the Elders found someone to teach... at five-twenty-five-pee-em. Spirit thoughts : So yall know how in the scriptures it talks about "The wicked" ? For example: Ezekiel 3:18 "When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die" Wo wo wo unto the wicked! The wicked shall be cut off... The wicked shall surely die... The wicked shall be cast into hell... And so on. Well. Something I've noticed is that whenever Christ is speaking one on one with someone who is what we would consider "wicked" never does He tie wickedness to their identity. (Woman at the well, woman caught in adultery, men with devils, etc) Wickedness is not an identity, it's a possession. This realization has made reading the scriptures a lot brighter for me! When Christ comes again, the wicked in me really will mourn, but I will not. The wicked in me will be cut off, but I will not. The wicked in me WILL die, but I will not. I am not wickedness, neither are you. I am a child of God, redeemed by Christ, saved by His grace. And because of Him, someday there will be no more wicked to even possess. Amen! I love you all more than magpie babies, -sis. Bjazzy Previous Letter Next Letter

8c5e407c-7f93-4624-affb-a067bd8c1057 Elder Connor Zarate Back to Missionary Letters Not a whole lot to write about this week. We did have exchanges with our DL in Sligo, which is another small town north of us. It was fun. While we where walking around I saw a tie draped over a crosswalk light and I climbed up and got it. There wasn't many tourists but it was so pretty. Sligo sits in a bowl along some mountains and oh how I miss the Mountains, they are so amazing. (They were more like really big hills all in a row but still they were fairly high and you would be out of breath if you climbed them, so we are counting it.) We taught alot of lessons this week, and several where in-person. When we teach the plan of salvation, we like to do it at the church with the whiteboard and that is a really fun. On Saturday, we got to do two in a row, as one friend left the other came and we taught it again, so that was fun. Other than that, the weather continues to to improve little by little. The sun stays out longer and longer, and more and more tourists flood the streets. (I still haven't figured out exactly what it is, but you can pick an American out of a crowd from a kilometer away. It just oozes out of them. It is so funny) A scary though that I had this week. My comp pointed out that we have been together for at least a full transfer, and whenever people ask our age I always say that "I just turned 19"... which was true... when I was in Virginia but now I am almost closer to being 20. But that doesn't seem right to me because I feel like I haven't been on my mission for that long yet. Yeah, my birthday was pretty early on in but my mission, but my mind still thinks that I am fairly early in as well. Spritual though. This week I am grateful for the Book of Mormon and modern prophets. With having the opportunity to teach The Plan of Salvation a couple of times this week, Elder Newton and I were talking about how much is different from mainstream Christianity. Really what it comes down to is that we have a deeper understanding of these truths and how they all fit together because of the Book of Mormon and modern prophets. I invite you all to start or continue to read the Book of Mormon, and to look for how it can Help you in your life, and how you can apply the principles that you learn from it. Because we know from Nephi in 2 nephi 32:3 "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." And watch what you can of General Conference comming up soon. The things you hear and read as you do will change your life just as it has changed mine, and help you come to understand the character of Christ more. https://photos.app.goo.gl/tGCNLwWcsXsYxgai6 Ps Happy St. Patrick's Day, from Ireland Previous Letter Next Letter

658ca52e-8a5a-4ef3-9017-d877919d7dcc Elder Cameron Wright Back to Missionary Letters Zone Conference👨💼 Que lo que y'all?! It's been a pretty good week. Starting to get adjusted and the weeks are starting to go. Everyday had something different too which helps. Let's get into it: - Tuesday I had a family friend that works down here take us to Rudy's. It was amazing. It was fun to talk and see a familiar face. - I also had an exchange with E. Skeehan. It was a pretty good one. Skeehan is a pretty seasoned missionary. His days are limited. It was good to see how he does some stuff and learn. He's a funny dude too. Kinda interesting, but it was a good time. - Thursday we had Zone Conference and I got to see some of my peeps from my CCM days so it was good. The message was really good too. A big focus on having the spirit which is really important because it's the teacher. - Elder Lara also came out with us after conference. He's a service missionary, but likes to go out with us once or twice a week. Really funny guy. Just this little mexican honestly. It's funny because me and my comp are huge and then there he is. We mess around with him which is funny but we can definitely get a little over board. I try to keep it good. He's a good guy. He takes it good. - That next day I had an exchange with my old DL, E. Gearhart. That was a fun day and we found a ton of people. He has a lot of energy which is fun to be around - Saturday we basically worked off of only a few hours of sleep because of dumb late night Uno, but it was good. We just visited friends and got them locked in for church. - Sunday was a fun one. We had our Barbeque and also we had a few friends come to church which was hype. Spiritual Thought: I was reading in Matthew 9: 10 ¶ And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance I just really like this because the amount of people that say they aren't worthy enough for church or baptism here is a ton. I just wish people could understand that it is the reason we need Jesus and church. There's this video on Gospel Library that compares church to a mechanic shop. Throughout the week we get banged up (sin) and every Sunday we have the opportunity to take the sacrament and get a tune up. Even those times we read the scriptures give us little tune ups because the more we perfect ourselves, the more we become like Jesus. So what I'm saying is don't ever think you aren't worthy enough to attend church or get closer to God. He will always accept you and that is why his Gospel is on this earth; To become better. Have a good week yall! Let me know what yall up to. It'd be great to hear from ya. - Elder Wright Previous Letter Next Letter

2b312b05-1612-45d4-a521-3f94a3c7a7c7 Sister Marian Leavitt Back to Missionary Letters 🌷☀️🪴🌧 The weather is healing! Its finally sitting in the 60s and it feels so good! Normally i would think this is so cold but it has been FREEZING! Our weeks here are a lot of the same things! We're busy with lessons and we get to walk everywhere! This week we saw some super cool miracles. In this area most buildings are lockouts and you need keys to get literally anywhere which is so annoying but we went to visit one specific person anyways this week. We got there and as soon as we tried getting in someone was coming out so we got into the lobby but we didnt have a key to use the elevator so we waited like 2 minutes then someone came in and we hopped in the elevator with him! Gods timing is so good. So many tender mercies right there. The guy we went to visit doesnt live there anymore so we started sharing a message with the guy who did live there and he is so elect! We taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and put him on date to be baptized!! So awesome. We knocked the hall and met juanita and her 2 daughts who are interested in learning more! It was an afternoon of miracles which was so so cool!! We have been meeting with a part member family. They have been less active for awhile but we were finally able to go over there on saturday! The mom is an inactive member with 3 girls and 1 boy. They're all under 16 and the girls are all old enough to be baptized so we brought up baptism and church and the importance of keeping the commandments and invited them to be baptized and they accepted the invitation!! MIRACLES IN MOUNT VERNON FOR REALS!! I love love love mosiah chapter 2 when king benjamin is addressing the people. I feel like it was general conference for their time. And i love when it talks about them pitching their tents towards him so they could focus on him and hear him. Thats how we need to be with general conference! We need to put our focus towards the prophet because he really is Gods messenger and we NEED to listen! Conference talks are just about the most healing thing on earth. You can find a talk about anything and it will bring so much peace. What a special opportunity that we get it LIVE!! please prepare for general conference and but the extra effort in to "pitch your tent towards the prophet" I LOVE YOU ALL!! https://photos.app.goo.gl/S2KwiGxpSdFowZuA6 Previous Letter Next Letter

d6372d05-415d-412c-93cd-2ef6e00b5f8f Sister Abbie Wilson Back to Missionary Letters JOURNALING IS IMPORTANT HAHA Hey guys!! You guys get to hear from me twice this week haha. I need to be better about writing these things so that you get them on time. And sorry in advance for the long emails haha. Monday was another fun day!! I hit 8 months on my mission which is crazy. The time has gone by so fast. So to celebrate that, we went clothes shopping and I decided to buy some more sweaters. I know I'm not super close yet but I don't how I'm going to bring all of these clothes home. 277 days left but who is counting haha. Tuesday we did a lot of knocking. But guess what guys.... it was 54 DEGREES!!! It was a miracle. We decided to not wear coats this day since it was so nice outside. After we finished knocking we had a lesson with our friend Hiram. He is honestly one of the coolest people I have taught. I want to be like him when I grow up haha. Wednesday we had a long day. We did lots of contacting and lots of knocking. Later that day we were about to knock this referrals house when I got a call from my old companion telling me that one of the friends I had in Montpelier wasn't going to come to church anymore. She said he didn't really give an explanation, but that he said he could come this week and that he would be done for a while. She had told me to not call him for a couple of weeks, but as soon as her and I got off the phone, you bet I called him. I am not someone who can just wait for things. As we were talking he told me that he knew I was going to call one of these days to check up on him. He told me what he was going through and told me that he needed a break for a while. As I was listening, I decided to ask him a couple of questions. Do you read the Book of Mormon everyday and know its true? And he said "Of course" Do you know the church is true? "Absolutely". I told him that he was where he needed to be, and that he was supposed to be there for someone else. During the rest of the phone call I let him that he was important to me and that I loved him. I told him that even if he doesn't come back to church I would love him. That is something everyone needs to hear. So when you're at church, at the grocery store, or just at home find your friends and family and tell them you LOVE them!!!! Thursday was a pretty rainy day. I love the rain but it isn't the same as it is back home. It's a lot colder and it doesnt smell like sage brush which is unfortunate. We also had to walk in the rain for 15 minutes to get to a lesson since the road was blocked off. After the lesson we had an oil change and so that took up the rest of our day. Friday we had District council and we made breakfast for lunch and it was amazing!! After the meeting we had a lesson with our friend Michele with one L haha. She is kind of crazy. She made us these weird drinks wkth milk, cream, cranberry juice, ice, chocolate icing donuts, broccoli, and some kind of nut. I didn't want to be mean so I took a couple sips and it wasn't worth it haha. She also brought us some tomato soup and put a long piece of celery, had random chunks, a rock that says hope, and then threw a pen in it because journaling is important. Lets just say that it wasn't that good. After that weird lesson we had interviews with President Hayden which was fire. Saturday we had a lesson with our friend Giovanni which was awesome. We read the introduction and the testimonies in the Book of Mormon. I suggest reading and studying them because you will get new things out of it each time. The rest of the day we went knocking and it was freezing. We knocked until it was dark out and thats when the wind picked up. It got really cold and I wasn't about it so we left haha. Sunday was a normal church day!!! We had both of our wards and then went out finding. It was cold again so we weren't out for to long. After we went home and just hung out and did calls and weekly planning. ANYWAYS.... Be grateful for everything, follow the first prompting, pay attention to the little things, pray always, and remember HE loves you and remember to love each other!! 143, SISTER WILSON Pictures!!! https://photos.app.goo.gl/HnGmkCohrviGgg916 Previous Letter Next Letter

87d0041a-3576-46f2-b7c2-0f769c28e12e Elder Drake Wakefield Back to Missionary Letters ZOO-WEE-MAMA (Sorry, this was written on pday, but just sent today) You real if you know the title Miracles yall, all I can say. Effort is given, miracles are seen. One Miracle is we gotta go to this sweet Zoo place last pday, to get it you first get to feed animals like zebras and deer and Llamas out of your car which was great, then you park your car and it's a normal zoo with roller coasters. There was white tigers and pandas and elephants, almost got to ride an elephant that attraction got shut down cause there was an incident in India. Skill issue for sure but the camel sufficed. That was epic, and then I got to do two splits this week which was also epic. Miracles all through those days too. But my favorite one was this family that we definitely would not have met unless it be God's will. We finish a janji with an old member couple and walk out to go home. About 100 feet from their front door we meet a dad and daughter and talk to them for a little bit, can't remember how it exactly went down but the Sister tell him were missionaries and he says we can come over sometime for like 5 minutes, so I ask if we could go over right now. He accepts which is so cool, we go over and meet his wife and other kid, and later I get thr impression to bring up the Book of Mormon. Me and my comp with help from the members were able to bear strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and its Witness of Jesus Christ it gives. That truly is the purpose of the Book of Mormon. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. I promise reading will bring you closer to your Savior, as it did for me. I love the words from Moroni 7:9 For behold, this (Book of Mormon) is written for the intent that ye may believe...and also the marvelous works which were wrought by the power of God among them. We learn and grow our relationship by reading and learning from the experiences of God's servants. Please read, and you will know of the joy I have come to know. Dont just believe me, but read and learn for yourself. I promise you will feel that same joy😁 Love you all, Elder Wakefield Previous Letter Next Letter

86aee3d0-c9e9-4a60-8d91-2164be79ae56 Sister Tyra Ludvigson Back to Missionary Letters Book of Mormon = cumplido 😎 Hola hola!! Another killer week in the WA-TAC!! Tender Mercies - Cesar is getting bapzited!! Tender mercy of the century!! Keep him in your prayers pretty please! He orginally told us August as his date to get baptized, but we went through the interview questions and set his date for April 6th! Woohoo!! - We were knocking and this bro opens the door and immediately invites us in to eat some of the best ceviche I've ever had in my life! And he was interested in learning more! - I was desperately in need of a snack and lo and behold a pan (bread) 16 passenger van was driving through the neighborhood we were in honking his horn. Never took candy from strangers in a van, but I did take the best mexican pan ever! - Some of my past life experiences really helped me help my comp this week 💛 Sometimes we go through trials to bless others! - We met a sweet sweet older couple who seem really interested! The husband was so sweet, I asked them how they met (I love hearing people's stories) and bro goes without hesitation "It was like a movie." So sweet! (It was! They met in Cabo on the beach!) - We met this english gal Courtney and were able to have a really spiritual interaction with her and refer her to the elders in that area! - We had dinner with an english family and they really reminded me of my own! Pensamiento Espiritual: I FINISHED THE BOOK OF MORMON IN SPANISH!!! (And English, I'm not gonna lie to you all) kinda hilarious that my first time reading and studying it cover to cover by myself was in my second language lols! No one tells ya how good it is! (Jokes, jokes, that's what we missionaries get to do all day!) I honestly am so so grateful for the Book of Mormon! It wasn't given to any other time - like it wasn't written for the Nephites or the Lamanites, it was written for us!!! How stinking amazing is that!?! As I got to the end and hit the classic Moroni's promise: "3 I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I was pleasantly surprised by the impression I had that I didn't need to pray about something I already knew to be true! I wrote my testimony down and loved the feeling of the spirit solidifying the things I know to be true. This is my invitation to y'all: READ THE BOOK OF MORMON!!! Even if it's 1 verse, it's a good book, I promise ya! And to write down (or even think!) about the ways your life has been blessed by the additional knowledge you've gained from the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I promise that as you do, you will be able to greater feel God's personal love for you and deepen your understanding of your divine nature as His beloved child! You guys are the world's best! Thank you for all the prayers! And for reading! Los quiero, Hermana Ludvigson Previous Letter Next Letter
