Testimony
February 20, 2022
Over the 52 plus years that we have been married we have made about a dozen moves and have lived in seven states and at times have been separated by vast oceans for lengthy periods of time. As we have made each move we have experienced sadness, difficulties, hardships, joys, and an increase in love. The one constant in all of these moves has been our small family and our larger and more diverse family, that being the Church.
Wherever we went we had a ready made family of loving, caring, and welcoming latter-day saints. We were instantly welcomed into each and every ward or branch and quickly given callings that tested our strengths and our testimonies. But in every situation we had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that he would give us the inspiration to accomplish what was needed. We were never allowed to hide our light under a bushel basket. We were tested, and challenged, and inspired to do what was right.
It is the same today as we begin a new chapter in our lives. Although we have served two very rewarding service missions this will be our first full time mission. Having finished our training at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, we are now ready to make another move in hopes of having the necessary qualifications and testimonies to help spread the gospel to the people of the New Jersey Morristown Mission. What a joy we feel as we make the final closing up arrangements and prepare to leave. What joy we feel as we travel across country and feel and see this marvelously great land of ours.
We know that we will have the Spirit with us, because we know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, that God lives and loves us and wants us to have joy. We know that Jesus is the Christ and it is in his name that we will preach and testify. We know that President Russel M. Nelson is a Prophet of God and that he leads the Church in these days and that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration, which continues today.
This is our testimony and we leave it with you humbly and in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen
Elder Scott and Sister Stephanie Sangberg
