Berkeley Wayne Hunt, age 87, died Friday, June 24, 2022 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born August 30, 1934 in Bunkerville, Nevada to Alva LaVere and Flossie Iola Waite Hunt.
Berkeley lived most of his life in Bunkerville. As a young man, he served in the Army and was released with an Honorable Discharge. He lived in Las Vegas for many of his working years, but always spent time in his hometown. He worked for the Nevada Department of Transportation in the maintenance division where he devoted his time to horticulture at the various rest areas and information centers. Berkeley loved the outdoors, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a talented gardener and worked hard cultivating roses, irises and other plants and flowers. He always shared his bountiful harvest with friends and neighbors. He belonged to the Iris Society and enjoyed competing, judging, and teaching. In his later years, he loved spending time in the Temple.
Survivors include two sisters: Audrey Dimick of Colorado Springs, CO and Elaine Jensen of Bunkerville, NV. He will also be missed by the many people he formed lifelong friendships with.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bunkerville Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Bunkerville Cemetery.
