¡Ataque De Área!

Last email I totally forgot to say that thai is technically my only full year as a missionary and I am so excited to start this year off with a BANG! So let's get into it!

Bullet Points

>We made chocolate chip cookies :) We love cookies! When we got home all the cookies were gone and everyone kept raving about them for days haha :)

>¡¡ ATAQUE DE ÁREA!! We had a full on attack in our área… we had all the missionaries in our city come to our área for 2 hours and we found 4 people and had a lot of people tell us to come back :) I am so happy to see some progress in this area!!

> Our pension told us the most amount of gossip I think I have ever heard in my life during lunch one day…

> I don't know why I like waking up to spider bites but I have 3 now… Don't ask me how because I don't know!

> Toilet problems!! One day we got back to our apartment and the toilet would not stop running so I used my handy dandy toilet skills my dad taught me and got it to stop until the owner got there to help us :)

>Zone conference!! We learned so much about how to help our friends. And I had my interview with President Chipman. It was awesome and is always a good spiritual experience.

> Teaching Cirila to read! Even though we don´t speak Spanish well, we are still teaching a member of our ward to read and she is so cute and eager to learn!!

> Nefi, the brother of our pension, is teaching us Spanish and he is the bestest :) But, we still don't know what we are doing haha!

> "What a terrible teacher the steps are so hard!!" quote from Hna Mortensen with a little kid toy she received for Christmas haha

Spiritual thought

Making the top of a bunk bed. You all know I relate random topics to the gospel or my life as a missionary. I thought I would use a normal weird example this week. I woke up on Tuesday like any other day but for some reason I didn't want to make my bed. Then I got thinking about Christ. If I were to walk into His room I imagine His bed would be made, as a missionary I am a representative of Him so I made my bed. However, I am on the top bunk just keep that in mind… I wanted to make my bed perfectly because that is how I imagine Christ would do it. But, as soon as I got it just how I wanted it, I relized… I needed to climb down. I made my bed without wrinkles but it wasn't until after I was done that I realized it wouldn't stay perfect. This is because of a decision I made, To make my bed while I was still on it. I climbed down as carefully as I could but no matter what there were still wrinkles after.

I was able to fix it again but that’s not the point. We all make decisions but as long as we are striving to be more like Christ it will be better than it was before.

Even with being extremely careful, we still make mistakes in this life. We might get to a point where we think we can get away perfectly until we see where we are standing. If I would not have made my bed when I was on it. I might not have made the same wrinkles but it would have been harder. Sometimes we need to take baby steps to reach the perfection that we are striving for. I do the best I can and just mess it all up again as soon as it's time for bed. but we can keep trying :)

Sorry if that made no sense at all… I am really hot and it's humid today so my brain isn't working quite right haha! I hope everyone is good and sorry if I haven't responded to emails recently. I promise to try harder next week!! love ya lots!
